Kid-Friendly Olympic Watch Party or Patriotic Party Snacks

Kid-Friendly Olympic Watch Party or Patriotic Party Snacks

Are you hosting an Olympic watch party and looking for some fun and tasty snack ideas for the kids? Look no further! We've created a list of kid-friendly snacks that are sure to be a hit with the little ones.

1. Veggie Torch Cups

Start off with a healthy option by creating veggie torch cups. To keep things simple, I used a spinach & dill dip mix by Molly & You. Easily mix with sour cream and mayo and chill. Before serving, add some dip to the bottom of a flat bottom ice cream cone and create your 'flame' with sliced bell peppers and carrots. Not only are these snacks adorable, but they are also nutritious!

2. Olympic Fruit Rings

Create colorful Olympic fruit rings on a charcuterie board or parchment paper. This could be done with fruit or veggies, but I used blueberries, blackberries, raspberries, pineapple, and honeydew melon. For added fun, try incorporating cheeses from the host country to fill your board. I simply cut star shapes into colby jack cheese and added some mini salami slices. Kids will love this vibrant and sweet treat that also pays homage to the Olympic spirit.

I added the Eiffel Tower vase for fun since this year's summer Olympics is hosted in Paris.

3. Jello & Pudding Layered Cups

For a fun and easy dessert option, make Jello and pudding layered cups. Choose your flavors for red and blue Jello options. Follow package directions for each of the Jello colors and one box of vanilla pudding. Once Jello is set, scoop blue into a clear cup, top with some vanilla pudding, followed by red jello. Finish your cup with whipped cream & sprinkles for a fun touch! Alternating layers of colorful jello and creamy pudding in small cups makes this treat both visually appealing and delicious.

4. Oreo Gold Medals

Give the kids a sweet reward with Oreo gold medals. Use golden Oreo cookies as the base and attach a ribbon made of fruit roll-ups. These edible medals will make the little ones feel like champions!

5. French Garlic Cheese Bread

Satisfy their savory cravings with French garlic cheese bread. Slice a loaf of French bread lengthwise to create two halves. Melt one stick of butter and brush onto both halves. Sprinkle with garlic salt and Italian seasoning. Top with shredded parmesan or cheese of your choice. Bake at 425 for about 10 min or until cheese is melted and edges of bread begin to crisp. This cheesy and garlicky snack will disappear in no time.

6. Sweet & Salty Snack Mix

Round out the snack spread with a sweet and salty snack mix. In a large bow, combine 3 cups of Bugles, 2 cups of Cheerios, 4 cups of Chex, and 2 cups of Pretzel Snaps. Then in a microwave safe bowl, melt 1 (20 ounce) package of vanilla almond bark, stirring frequently (to prevent from burning and becoming too thick) until melted and smooth. Pour melted almond bark over mixture in large bowl and stir to coat evenly. Spread mixture in an even layer onto parchment paper. Add 1-2 cups of plain or peanut M&M's or a mixture of both. Finish with sprinkles in your choice of color. I used Olympic gold sprinkles, but this snack mix would look great with red, white & blue sprinkles! Allow to cool completely, and make sure to store in an air tight container. This is a snack that offers a perfect balance of flavors and textures.

Some things don't go as planned...while I attempted a red, white & blue non-alcoholic layered drink, I couldn't get it quite right and my white layer kept disappearing. Maybe you'll have better luck!

With these creative and delicious snack ideas, your Olympic watch party will be a hit with the kids (and adults too!). They will love munching on these fun treats while cheering on their favorite athletes. Enjoy the games and the snacks!
