The classic Christmas Pickle!

Thought to be a German-American tradition, parents decorated the Christmas tree, they hung the pickle ornament last, hiding it in the green boughs. When the children were allowed to view the tree, they would begin searching for the pickle ornament and whoever found it would receive an extra present and would have been said to have a year of good fortune.
